Facility:Avila Valley Barn
Description:This is a favorite spot to stop off and get ice cream on the way to or from Avila Beach, to buy the freshest fruit and vegetables grown locally, pick up a bakery treat or gift item, or just to take the kids to visit the farm pets or go for a hay ride and pick fresh produce for the first time.

Many have discovered their warm and welcoming vine-covered arbor and barns nestled amongst the hills of Avila Valley. Its inviting atmosphere, which hails back to simpler times, will call you back again and again.

I love this place! During the fall they have a 2 haystack mazes that is fun for the kids to go through! One is for little kids so you can take them out if they get to confused and the other is stacked high above an adults head so you can not even cheat! The food is wonderful, we always pick up a berry pie or coffe cake - YUM! the hay rides in the fall are also a delight!. You can pay for a pumpkin of any size that you get to pick yourself at the end of the hay ride. OTHER SEASONS YOU CAN PICK YOUR BERRIES AS WELL. There are several animals in enclosed areas to pet and enjoy looking at, the lama is one of our musts to go pet. There is a little store, candy and ice cream mostly, that you can chose your flovor of an ice ream cone and set outside on benches with tables, over looking the fields. It is a graet place to browse at jams and home made goodies. You will love it!

We visited in the Fall during Pumpkin Season. It is a great place for kids to roam, visit farm animals and search for the perfect pumpkin. The hay ride into the fields was a lot of fun. We picked some apples too. They really made it fun for the kids which is wonderful.
