Audubon Aquarium of the Americas/Entergy IMAX Theatre The underwater world comes to life as you experience 10,000 specimen of fish, birds and reptiles in their natural habitats, including sharks, jellies and FROGS! Visit five unique areas: experience penguins in Living in Water; don't miss the 400,000 gallon Gulf of Mexico Exhibit, stroll through the Caribbean Reef tunnel, see rare white gators in the Mississippi Delta Gallery; then escape to the Amazon Rainforest. Meet Sea Otters Buck and Emma as they express themselves through playful interaction.

In my opinion, this is one of THE best museums in the New Orleans area. A fantastic exhibit of aquatic life. The museum is divided into 'types' of water environments, and allows the opportunity to see beautiful and unique sea life close up. Specific to their region, they have a special exhibit of Mississippi River life that is conveniently poised for you to overlook the actual Mississippi River. A wonderful learning adventure. They also provide a 'scavenger hunt' activity you can print off of their website. Note: there is not a dolphin exhibit at this aquarium, but there are some sea turtles, sharks, penguins and much more. While visiting, I highly recommend watching the IMAX show about hurricanes in that area (theater is right next door to the Aquarium). It was truly moving and educational. I also found that if you purchase Aquarium tickets along with Insectarium, Zoo and/or IMAX tickets, that is the best discount. You can purchase them in any combination that you wish.

Not worth the money. Very disapointing. Go to the zoo instead it's great!
