Facility:Appomattox Court House National Historical Park
Description:Appomattox Court House National Historical Park is comprised of many original historic structures along with several reconstructed builings on approximately 1700 acres in rural southside Virginia. The village of Appomattox Court House was the site of the surrender of General Robert E. Lee and the event that signaled the end of four years of Civil War. Living History programs are offered every day during the summer months, and occassionally on weekends in the spring and fall. Actors portray historical figures from the 1860s.

Hours:The Visitor Center is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. except: Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Presidents Day and Martin Luther King Day. Please allow at least 4 hours to visit the historical village.
