We are members of the Sloan Musuem for numerous reasons. The most important is the museum is constantly updating and changing its diaplays, while maintaining the history of Flint, MI area as well.

We always enjoy the exhibits that are brought in, but my 5 children (ages 1-13 years) enjoy the pioneer hands on display the most. They pretend they are a family that has to survive in wild. The Native American and early Michigan settlement areas are well done also.

We have truly learned so much about unions and the sit down strike throug the newer interactive displays.

We live close to this museum and have made quite a few trips with the family pass. There are permanent exhibits as well as traveling ones. The last traveling exhibit was all about the body. It was fantastic! We got exclusive opening night privelages by having the family membership. However, you don't have to get a family membership to enjoy the museum.

If you want a look back in time with local automotive history you will enjoy the first part of the museum. There is a small gift shop when you walk in. The bathrooms have always been clean. Parking is close and free(in the back of the building). We brought our lunch to eat. There is no food offered while there incase you don't want to or plan to be there long enough for lunch. The pricing is very fair....
