| Nearby Bell's beautiful summer home, the castle, Ben Breagh (beautiful mountain in Gaelic) is the Bell Museum. Wonderful exhibits detailing all of Bell's tinkering and innovations. Did you know that he worked with the deaf, or that he built flying machines and hydrofoils? In fact, he built the fastest boat in the world. Children will enjoy the huge children's room chock full of books, games, activities, and the possibility of making some kites just like Bell experimented with. Go to the children's room last, and expect them to want to stay awhile. Special events such as Harvest Home complement the offering of activities on this site, situated on 10 hectares of landscaped grounds overlooking scenic Bras d'Or Lake and Baddeck Bay. |
