| Description: | For example, look up “Folk Art” in the Artlex Dictionary. You will see a description that reads: “Art made by people who have little or no formal schooling in art. Folk artists usually make works of art with traditional techniques and content, in styles handed down through many generations, and often of a particular region. Paintings, sculptures, ceramics, metalwork, costume, tools, and other everyday objects may all be folk art." There are italicized words within that definition that are links. Click on them and see pictures of the items being described for a clearer understanding of the terms. The Artlex Dictionary is comprehensive.
