Resource:Interactive Exploration of Modern Art for Kids!
Provider:Destination Modern Art
Summary:What fun for young kids! The Museum of Modern Art in New York offers a terrific interactive game that teaches kids about Modern Art as they click and play along
Description:When you get to the site you’ll see a picture of an alien. Click anywhere on the page and a new screen opens. The “alien” will be your child’s guide through the museum and will invite you to click on any of the 3 pieces of artwork you see — including paintings (by Van Gogh and Frida Kahlo) and a sculpture (by Umberto Boccioni). When you click on the artwork, a new screen opens with a description of the artwork and 4 or 5 activities that teach your child more about the artwork and the artist, and encourages your child to try their hand at using the techniques used by the artists. This is a great way to introduce modern art to young children.
