This year's theme explores the world through mapping. As the website explains, new technologies have taken maps out of atlases and put them into the palm of your hand. It's easier than ever to earn about maps and technology, and how to become a "map activist."
When you get to the site, simply read the introduction and scroll down the landing page to find a selection of fun lessons and activities, and use the menu to find more "Games & Cool Stuff". You can:
*Find your continent in giant tile maps
*Find your country in political outline maps
*Find your local area through community mapping tools like FieldScope
*Get a free, downloadable and printable world map
*Watch a video that explains how today's geospatial revolution is changing everything from shipping to warfare.
*Take geo-tours that will introduce you to fascinating people and places around the globe.
Have fun!
