Learn what to do if stranded in a car during the winter.

Description:

For those of you who live in the extreme climates, learning what to do if you are stranded in a car in the middle of winter is too important not to discuss. With this lesson plan your kids will learn what to do if stranded and make a survival kit.

Your kids will learn 5 important safety procedures to do while stranded. You can then roll play, having them show you what to do. (I love roll playing and being the kid. hehe)

After discussing that, you will assemble a survival kit for the trunk of the car, making sure to remember each car. A coffee can, candle and non-perishables will give you a great start.

When we put together our survival kit we also included a blanket, mittens, hats and books to keep us occupied. You and your homeschooler can really be creative in the materials used. Remember diapers and powdered formula for those households with babies and chewing gum for the Nervous Nellies. This is a great way to come together as a family and think safety.
