| Creative writing using Candy Conversation Hearts! |
Grab a box of conversation hearts and hold a writing session. This is a great chance to do some creative writing using specific phrases. Have your kids empty the box of conversations and get to work. Your child will write a story making sure to use each phrase on the Conversation Hearts. You can decide what to do with duplicates either by using them twice or eating the evidence. You and your child can discuss how formal sounding the paper should be. Make the finished page more festive by gluing the hearts on the paper in the proper places or using valentine paper*. This is a just a fun project that can be fit into any part of your day. Possibly a Valentines Day teatime activity?
We do activities similar to this each year and the kids always find it fun. To shake things up we will tell our stories out loud. I start a story out loud and we build the rest as we go, picking hearts along the way. Whatever you pick you must fit into the story. It saves the writing and punctuation that sometimes can take the fun out of story telling PLUS it causes us to laugh ALOT!
Check out this lesson and get the creativity flowing!
