| 4 lessons in math Scooby Doo Style! |
Calling Scooby Doo fans! After scrolling down the page, you can download "Math's No Mystery" for your 1st and 2nd graders. In this 10 page PDF you will find 4 math activities Scooby Doo style! These activities can be used to supplement your existing lesson plans but with the extensions included at the end of each activity there should be no problem using them as individual lessons. Start with printing out the poster and reviewing the numbers 1-100 with your homeschooler. The poster is colorful and has fun Scooby items on it.
In Activity 1, "Scooby Says it Makes Cents", your child will review pennies, dimes, nickels and quarters with an attached worksheet. They will be required to add and subtract to find the answers.
Activity two is "The Case of the Missing Numbers". With the attached worksheet each student will act as "number detectives" and be asked to recognize different sequences of numbers, filling in the worksheet as they go.
"Maze Mayhem" is Activity 3. You will give your child a Scooby Doo ruler that you have printed from the packet and your child will follow the directions on the maze handout to make their way through. I am guessing your child will like the Scooby Doo ruler because even my 13-year wanted one ;)
Learning to compile information and then graph it is the exercise in Activity 4. After answering the questions on the handout you and your child will make a graph to show the "Scooby Stats". (graph is not included)
These lessons make learning and reviewing alot of fun. Heck, who didn't want to be a member of Mystery Inc. growing up? With these lessons you can relive a bit of your childhood and be a "detective" right along with your kids.
You will want to check out the rest of the "kits" available on this site. From preschool to highschool you are sure to find something your homeschooler will love! |
