Description:Scholastic has to be one of my favorite lesson plan websites. It usually has comprehensive, fun and interesting lesson plans and this one is no exception. With “A Week of Winter Weather” you and your homeschooler will have fun learning through a variety of activities. Each day offers step-by-step instructions making your job, as a homeschool mommy or daddy, easier and fun!

· Day 1 is vocabulary day. Great conversation will occur as you discuss the wintery words.
· Day 2 you will discuss thermometers and fill out a temperature sheet.
· Day 3 is all about signs of the wind. Have fun with bubbles and streamers.
· Day 4 you will learn how the wind blows using a balloon, hot water and an empty soda bottle.
· Day 5 you will make a pinwheel and discover the properties of wind.

Each day provides fun, hands on activities about the weather. Some days have extension activities that include books and assignments such as writing poems using descriptive language.

My older kids enjoyed this as much as my youngling did. If your kids are hands on, like mine, this is one set of plans you will enjoy teaching!
