Summary:This Bio4Kids website (an extension of the Biography Channel television series of the same name) contains short biographies, fun biographical videos, and games designed just for kids.
Description:Exploring the biographies of people of historical or cultural importance or notoriety is a great way to introduce children to different eras of history. Interesting facts and little known anecdotes about the lives of presidents, scientists, explorers, artists, musicians, cultural icons, and others bring history alive in fascinating ways.

When you get to the website use the menu to find:

*Episode Guide: Here, in alphabetical order, is a comprehensive listing of people who have been featured on the show so far, together with a photo and brief paragraph about each one.

*Meet the People: This section features more in-depth biographies with a full page of information about each person featured along with a photo.

*Facts of Lives Challenge: Answer nine questions about famous people. If at first you don't get them all correct, try, try again!

*Celebrity Hangman: Clues are given; guess the names of famous singers, actors, and other celebrities before you run out of letters. There are quite a few names here.

*Sports Match Game: In this version of Concentration, correctly match each sports card with the corresponding famous athlete. You might know more of these than you realize!

*Betcha Didn't Know - These short VIDEOS include little-known tidbits about historical figures and cultural icons such as Einstein, Edison, Reagan, Mary Pickford, and Charlie Chaplin.

*For Teachers Only! - Teachers can click here and explore a bit to find what they need for instructional purposes.

Note: While this site is designed for kids, as you click from page to page, the info and links in the right-hand column lead to the adult section of this website and are not included in this review. Parental discretion and internet safety practices are, as always, advised.
