The digital collection features: Collections Database: This site represents a selection of artifacts from the OSV collection, organized by use or material. The artifacts were made or used by rural New Englanders between 1790 and 1840. Historical Documents: Many complete and partial transcriptions of primary sources revealing information about life and events in New England during the early years of the American nation, from the 1790s through the 1840s. Papers and Articles: Research papers and background articles written by staff at Old Sturbridge Village. Graphics Database: A significant collection of period graphics images and manuscripts that illuminate early American history and everyday life. Curriculum Plans: Curriculum units and lesson plans incorporating primary sources to spark students' interest and develop critical thinking skills. Activities include hands-on learning and encourage inquiry learning. Ask Jack: Answers from the chief historian at Old Sturbridge Village, Jack Larkin, to frequently asked questions from students. Mills and Waterpower: Information and narrated animations of the different waterwheels providing power to the mills at Old Sturbridge Village.
