"Opened in 1930 as the first Planetarium in the Western Hemisphere, the Adler fuels the imagination of its visitors with all new exhibits, state-of-the-art computer technology in the world's first StarRider Theater, while showcasing a renowned collection of historical astronomy artifacts. Located on Lake Shore Drive in Chicago's Museum Campus." There are also free distance learning programs and tons of interactive activities and games.
Free museum days in 2006: Mondays and Tuesdays January 9 through February 28 and September 11 through December 19. Museum admission is free on these days. An additional fee for shows applies.
