Facility:Great Smokey Mountains National Park
Description:This park is directly outside of Gatlinburg, TN and is a wonderful destination for families looking to study ecosystems. The park itself boasts the largest number of salamander species in the world, and they are easily identified with a park ranger on several of the daily hikes around the park - all free! There is also a good chance of seeing bears, deer and other wildlife up close. The camping facilities are very nice with clean restrooms and ice, firewood and basic supplies on site.
