| 'Iolani Palace State Monument |
| The palace was the last home of royalty in the United States. Built by King David Kalakaua in 1882, the Victorian structure combines American and European styles of architecture. Imported woods as well as Hawaiian woods such as koa and kamani were used in the carved paneling. The elegant throne room displays the original chandeliers, carved thrones, swords, and crowns. |
