Description:The Andrew Johnson National Historic Site honors the life of the 17th President. Andrew Johnson's presidency, 1865-1869, illustrates the United States Constitution at work following President Lincoln's assassination and during attempts to reunify a nation torn by civil war. His presidency shaped the future of the United States and his influences continue today.

The Visitor Center houses a museum collection, Andrew Johnson's Tailor Shop, and a 13 1/2 minute orientation film. Touring the home

Andrew Johnson owned this home twenty-four years, both before and after his presidency. His descendants continued to live here until 1956. Today the house is furnished extensively with original furnishings and belongings.

Hours:Open from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. every day except Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day. The National Cemetery will remain open on these days from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. The National Cemetery will also remain open until 7:00 p.m. on Memorial Day.
