Facility:Amasa Day House
Description:The Federal Amasa Day House (1816) is handsomely situated at the edge of a quiet New England village green. It epitomizes the Republican spirit of early Connecticut and the genteel aspirations of its builder, Col. Julius Chapman. The house contains many Day family possessions, and features a remarkable furnished kitchen, original floor and stair stenciling, and a tranquil rural setting.
