Discovery Education Honored with Four Awards from Technology & Learning - 2007
Discovery Education was honored with four awards from Technology & Learning magazine. The company earned an Award of Excellence for both Discovery Education Health and Discovery Education Science, and was recognized with two Legacy Awards for Discovery Education streaming and PowerMediaPlus.The prestigious Awards of Excellence program highlights innovative software and Web products that break new ground in some important way and demonstrate clear superiority over similar products in the market. The Legacy Award honors software and Web products that have stood the test of time and have evolved to continue to offer the highest quality learning experiences for both educators and students. This year's winners were chosen by more than 30 educator-judges who test-drove over 120 entries.

2007 Bessie Award
ComputED Gazette named Discovery Education streaming a winner of the 13th Annual Best Educational Software Awards (BESSIES). Discovery Education streaming earned a 2007 BESSIE award in the category of "Best Digital Video Resource Webiste." The BESSIE awards recognize innovative and content-rich programs and websites that provide parents and teachers with the technology to foster educational excellence. The ComputED Gazette is the sponsor of the BESSIES and the award-winning website of the ComputED Learning Center, California's premier computer education resource for children and adults. |

Discovery Education Wins 26 Telly Awards
Discovery Education was awarded an impressive 26 Telly awards this year, adding to its collection of prestigious awards for outstanding products and services. The Telly Awards honor outstanding local, regional and cable-television commercials and programs, as well as video and film productions. Discovery Education programs won awards in three categories—Broadcast, Non-Broadcast, and Digital—and a few titles won more than one award.Three of the Discovery Education programs that won Telly Awards--Animal Colors and Shapes; Mesopotamia: From Nomads to Farmers; and Discovering Math: Arithmetic (K-2)--were produced in collaboration with the Discovery Production Group. The Discovery Health Channel also shared in three of the awards, which recognized two titles, Sex and STDs and Obesity and Nutrition, from the Reality Matters series.
