CBSE Diversity Fellowships and Awards in Genomic Science
CBSE funds a number of graduate students and postdoctoral scholars every year as a part of its research program. In addition, CBSE's Center for Genomic Sciences offers diversity-oriented fellowships to graduate students and awards to undergraduates. These allow outstanding students to pursue research projects in areas relevant to the human genome, including the ethical, legal, and social implications of genome research. To qualify for these awards, you must be a UCSC student and a US citizen or permanent resident. Students may be enrolled in any program, and may apply their first year at UCSC.

Since these fellowships and awards particularly support the NHGRI's goal to increase the numbers and capabilities of minority scientists and science professionals, we especially encourage members of the following underrepresented groups to apply: African American, Pacific Islander/Native Hawaiian, Native American/Alaskan, Hispanic.
