Nowadays, a computer is probably one of the most expensive and important purchases you will make for your homeschool. That's why the Co-op has put together a special program -- to help members find the best computer at the best price.

As time goes on, we will seek discounts from other computer suppliers. At the present time, we are pleased that Dell and Apple have made discounts available to homeschoolers. We welcome discounts from other computer manufacturers as well.

While we would like to put together Goup Buys for deep savings on inexpensive computers, the reality is that the manufacturers make so little money on those systems that there are really no great deals to be had. If you are looking for the lowest possible price on a brand name, entry level computer, your best bet is probably to buy from Walmart or another major discounter. Those retailers have the purchasing power to get rock bottom prices.

The possible exception is Dell. If you are looking for an inexpensive Dell computer, your best bet may be to purchase one through the Co-op's Dell Educator Discount Program. Members are eligible for savings of 2%-12% on Dell Dimension desktops and Inspiron notebooks.
