Please read this FAQ page carefully before contacting the Co-op. Remember! The
Co-op is a non-profit organization with limited staff resources.
PLEASE do not contact BrainPOP directly as they do not provide customer support for the individual user under this Co-op program. Refer to this page for more information and support. The Co-op has FULL RESPONSIBILITY for getting your questions answered.
What do I do if my question is not answered on this page?
If you cannot find the answer to your question on this page, you may submit your question at the Contact Us page. We will answer your question and update this page as well.
What is the best way to find out about BrainPOP?
Go to the BrainPOP website and check it out. BrainPOP offers a free 14-day trial subscription. They offer a free 5-day trail for BrainPOP Jr. They don't ask for your credit card, so you don't have to worry about being charged at the end of the 14-day period. We strongly recommend that you sign up for a trial subscription before you order, as this is the best way for you to determine whether you want to come in under the Co-op's subscription.
In addition, they have a complete set of FAQs on their site at http://www.brainpop.com/support/general_help_school.weml
Do I need a high-speed internet connection for this product?
You NOT have to have a high-speed connection--BrainPOP was actually designed to work on a dial-up. However, if you begin experiencing Page Not Found errors, try navigating to other web sites. It is possible that your connection has closed.

Does BrainPOP contain Evolution material?
We received this message from a member: "I have experience with BrainPOP. I wanted you to know that there is evolution included in the material, but not as an ongoing theme per se. If a parent watches the BrainPOP episodes with his/her child the evolution is easily caught and a great opportunity for discussion is opened up. I am just wanting everyone to have both eyes open going in."
Do I need one license per child?
Yes, if you purchase through the Co-op.
If I buy a "BrainPOP Subscription" for an older child, can I buy an "BrainPOP Jr. Additional Subscription for a younger child?
Because of the way our license is set up, we need you to buy a "BrainPOP Jr. Subscripiton" BEFORE you buy an "BrianPOP JR. Additional Subscription."
What grade is BrainPOP appropriate for?
The site is designed for grades 3-8 but they have users that range from grades K through 12. BrainPOP can be used for students of all learning styles and capabilities.
How will I access BrainPOP?
At the end of the Group Buy, you will be able to access both the student and teacher account through links on your Co-op My Profile page. To view My Profile, you must sign in at the Co-op website, then click the My Profile link in the left margin under "Members Only."
Will I have my own BrainPOP account?
No. You will be accessing BrainPOP through the Co-op's School Access subscription. Therefore, you will not have your own sign in and password. For security reasons, the Co-op will not disclose our sign in and password. However, you will have access to BrainPOP through links on your My Profile page at the Co-op website.
How often will I be able to access BrainPOP?
The Co-op is purchasing a School Access subscription, scheduled to start on September 12, 2007, and to continue for a year. Here are some of the "ins and outs" of that license: - Your student(s) will have access from 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM CENTRAL time. (See NOTE below.)
- You - the teacher - will have access 24/7/365.
- Other than the access times and a separate access links for teachers and students there is no difference between teacher access and student access. Teachers and students alike have access to exactly the same information. Both student and teachers access links will appear in your My Profile page.
Is there a limit to the number of times we can login to the Co-op's BrainPOP account every day?
No. You may have noticed that Homeschool and Family Access subscriptions limit the number of logins per day. However, under the Co-op's School Access subscription, there is no limit to the number of logins per day by either teacher or student. Keep in mind that student access is limited to the time period from 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM Pacific. See the previous FAQ.
Is there any individual student progress tracking or reporting?
No. BrainPOP offers tests, but it doesn't save test results or otherwise track student progress. The teachers can, of course, print out the tests and track student progress separately.
Am I allowed to share my BrainPOP access with others.
No - absolutely not. Your Co-op login and password information MUST be kept confidential.
PLEASE RESPECT YOUR FELLOW CO-OP MEMBERS - DO NOT SHARE YOUR LOGIN & PASSWORD
