'Imiloa Astronomy Center of Hawai'i tells dual stories of the renowned Maunakea volcano, with its world-famous astronomy and rich traditions of Hawaiian culture. 'Imiloa, which means "exploring new knowledge," reflects both the Hawaiian voyages of discovery and the explorations of astronomy. 'Imiloa features interactive exhibits, planetarium shows, group tours, a wonderful store, a cafe, and a full schedule of events.
'Iolani Palace State Monument

The palace was the last home of royalty in the United States. Built by King David Kalakaua in 1882, the Victorian structure combines American and European styles of architecture. Imported woods as well as Hawaiian woods such as koa and kamani were used in the carved paneling. The elegant throne room displays the original chandeliers, carved thrones, swords, and crowns.

Akaka Falls State Park

Akaka Falls State Park is a state park in Hawai'i, on the Island of Hawai'i. It includes 'Akaka Falls, a 442 ft. tall waterfall. 'Akaka is the Hawaiian name for this feature. "Akaka" means "A rent, split, chink, separation; to crack, split, scale". The accessible portion of the park lies high on the right shoulder of the deep gorge into which the waterfall plunges, and the falls can be viewed from several points along a loop trail through the park. Also visible from this trail is Kahūnā Falls.
Bailey House Museum

Built in 1833, the Bailey House is now a museum showcasing Hawaiian culture, artifacts, paintings, and furnishings from nineteenth-century Maui. Located in historic Wailuku Maui, Hawaii, built on the site of the Royal compound of Kahekili, last ruling chief of Maui, the house served as the Mission station for the Wailuku Female Seminary for Girls until 1847, then occupied by Edward Bailey and his family until 1888. On the grounds are gardens with native Hawaiian and missionary-era plants, Hawaiian artifacts, missionary furnishings, and paintings by Edward Bailey.

Battleship Missouri Memorial

Stand on the deck of this imposing old structure that has been painstakingly cared for and extensively renovated. The "Mighty Mo" is where General Douglas MacArthur proclaimed the end of World War II in September of 1945 in Tokyo Bay. The great vintage battleship now sits at permanent anchor across from the Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor.

Gay and Robinson Sugar Plantation

The Visitor Center is the Field Office of the operating sugar plantation located on the west side of Kaua'i. Displays show the history of Gay & Robinson Inc., Olokele Sugar Co., Hawaiian Sugar Co. (aka Makaweli Plantation) and Makaweli Ranch. Both historical and modern field and factory operations as followed in Hawai'i, and various artifacts are also exhibited. A world sugar map showcases sugar politics and current events. Two-hour Sugar Plantation tours offered weekdays 9:00 am and 1:00 pm (minimum age, eight years during harvesting and five years during off season); field and factory operations are covered as well as history and culture. Tours of working sugar plantation are conducted throughout the year, harvesting from April to October - no operations during rain. Three-hour tour to Olokele Overlook offered weekday mornings at 8:30 am by appointment only - includes lunch. Tour offers views of sugar fields and ranch operations and includes the 1904 Olokele ditch and hydroelectric plant.

USS Bowfin Submarine Museum and Park

USS Bowfin Submarine Museum & Park's mission is to restore and preserve the World War II submarine USS Bowfin (SS-287), and submarine-related artifacts on our grounds and in the Museum. Visitors are given a walkman-style cassette player that narrates their submarine tour as they explore this historic WWII submarine to imagine what life on board must have been like for her 80-man crew. Explore the intriguing world of submarines, both past and present at the 10,000 square foot Museum, which exhibits an impressive collection of submarine-related artifacts such as submarine weapon systems, photographs, paintings, battleflags, original recruiting posters, and detailed submarine models, all illustrating the history of the U.S. Submarine Service. Exhibits include a Poseidon C-3 missile that allows visitors to examine its inner workings. It is the only one of its kind to be on public display.
